ADOPT A PATH - grid square SD9828

This grid square has been been adopted under the Hebden Bridge Adopt-a-Path scheme by John D.

Landscape description: This grid square consists mainly of paths running along the tops of Edge Wood and Hebden Water together with the link paths from the village of Heptonstall and from Slack Bottom. Several of the paths cross the Hebden Bridge -Colden Road where it skirts Heptonstall and also the road between Slack Bottom and Slack top.
Many of the paths are wide well kept grassy tracks. The ones along the top of Edge Wood and Hebden Water (commonly known as "the defences") are rocky and contain stretches where care is needed because of the steep escarpments.
